Getting Started / Quick Start

Quick Start

RentBridge is self-serve for both sides of the marketplace: equipment owners list and manage fleets; renters book through the customer portal. This guide covers both paths.

For Equipment Owners

Step 1: Sign Up (2 minutes)

  1. Go to rentbridge.ai/signup
  2. Enter your company name, full name, email, and password
  3. Click "Create Account"
  4. Log in to your dashboard

You have free access for your first 14 days — no credit card required.

Have a beta invite code? Use the guided onboarding at rentbridge.ai/onboard instead — it walks you through company info, your first location, and your first equipment in four steps.

Step 2: Add Your First Equipment (5 minutes)

  1. From the dashboard, go to the Fleet page
  2. Click Add Equipment
  3. Fill in:
    • Make & Model: e.g., "Bobcat S570"
    • Category: Select from the dropdown (Excavators, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Generators, etc.)
    • Daily Rate: Your baseline rate — the dynamic pricing engine adjusts quotes from here
    • Status: Available
  4. Save

Have a whole fleet? Download the CSV import template from the Fleet page and upload your equipment list in one go.

Step 3: Take Your First Booking (5 minutes)

Bookings move through a validated lifecycle: quote → reserved → active → returned → closed (cancellation allowed before pickup).

  1. Go to Rentals and click New Rental
  2. Select the customer (or create one), the equipment, and the dates
  3. Review the quote — it's computed by the dynamic pricing engine: base rate × demand × seasonal adjustment, minus duration discounts (5% at 3+ days, 10% at 1+ week, 20% at 4+ weeks)
  4. Optionally offer rental insurance — four partner coverage options, priced per rental
  5. Reserve the booking, then confirm pickup when the customer collects the equipment

Step 4: Return, Settlement & Payout (automatic)

When the equipment comes back and you mark the rental returned:

  • The equipment is released back to available (or flagged for maintenance if the inspection found damage)
  • A settlement is created automatically: platform commission (10–15% by plan tier) is deducted and your owner payout is queued
  • Payouts settle same-day via Branch instant payout
  • The security deposit is held in escrow until you release it (or forfeit it against damage)

Track it all on your Earnings dashboard.

For Renters

  1. Browse the equipment catalog through the customer portal
  2. Request a quote — pricing is dynamic and duration discounts apply automatically for longer rentals
  3. Add coverage (optional) — damage waiver, liability, theft, or a full bundle from partner insurers
  4. Pick up and go — track your active rentals, invoices, and payment history in the portal
  5. Return on time — your deposit is released after a clean return inspection

The portal also shows your rental history, spend analytics, and equipment recommendations based on what you've rented before.
